Afuera's remodel of my pool deck and gardens far surpassed my expectations for design, quality and professionalism. The project entailed a complete overhaul of the area between my house, pool and property line with technical challenges: an uneven grade with boulders and steep drop at the property line, plus the need to navigate existing plumbing systems for septic, pool, drainage and irrigation.
Given the complexity, and my desire for new design that would artistically tie in the existing irregularly shaped pool, adjacent landscape and architecture, the project demanded a top contractor and a neighbor put me in touch with Paco. The entire experience from design to completion could not have been better and results are beautiful.
Design: With only general requirements from me, Afuera's designer developed a stunning design that not only integrated the existing poolscape, but also tuned in to my preferences for plant selection and form for a natural, serene sensibility. The design went beyond anything I could have imagined myself yet felt very suited to my taste.
Budget, Project Plan and Communication: Paco presented a detailed budget and worked with me to understand each line item, options and to align priorities. He also provided a detailed project plan breaking down the construction process and tasks on a daily basis. Together those provided an essential framework for communication throughout the construction project. Paco, Roxanne, Rosalio and the crew were very responsive to my questions, requests and suggestions as needed throughout the construction. When modifications were needed, Paco was very fair dealing with the change orders.
Workmanship & Teamwork: The crew's mastery and quality of workmanship was exceptional in all respects: foundation, masonry, fencing, decking, irrigation - plus they were fun to work with and made me feel like part of the team. They were careful, respectful and left the work area neat and tidy at the end of each day.
Warranty: After completion of the project, Afuera was very responsive whenever issues arose, coming by the same day or at most the next day to assess and soon thereafter address the issue.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Afuera Landscape Designs for a major landscaping project at my home. For years, we wanted to replace a long and crumbling stone pathway and finally pulled the trigger and got the job done with the help of Paco and his team.
